Richard Carter
This piece is an extension of a larger project in which imagery from early Landsat Earth observation satellites are parsed using a machine vision system, which translates the detected patterns into concrete visual poems, using a vocabulary drawn from the official online Landsat glossary.
Richard A Carter is an artist and lecturer in Digital Media at the University of Roehampton. Carter’s artistic work is an extension of his research practice, exploring the potentialities of seeing, knowing, and writing at the intersection between human and machinic actors.
