hOme hem

Lina Nordenström

The O as a globe to enter – contained, the ‘hem’ creating an horizon, and WE centered on the surface. ME on my way outside, on the go. The Swedish language is the water inside where I can swim, safe with my own identity. The English is representing community and contacts, reaching outside.

Lina Nordenström lives and works in Uttersberg, a small remote village in the middle of Sweden, where she is running a print studio together with her husband.

She was born 1963 in Stockholm, where she has lived most of her life. She studied at Gothenburg University 1982-85, The College of Printmaking Arts in Stockholm 1991-95, and the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm from 2000 to 2001. She is primarily working with prints, drawings and artists’ books, but she has also worked on commissions with public art in a bigger scale – out doors and in doors. Since 1995 she has been exhibiting regularly in Sweden and internationally. She is also giving lectures and workshops as a guest teacher at different art schools and universities, primarily in Sweden.
