James Knight
This diptych is inspired by two novels by Alain Robbe-Grillet: La Jalousie and La Maison de rendez-vous. Incorporating fragments of text from both books in English translation and the original French, I used this visual poem to explore the ambiguous, often sinister concept of home in Robbe-Grillet’s writing, as well as home, in a literary sense, for me (My first language is English; I taught myself French in order to read Robbe-Grillet).
James Knight is an experimental poet and digital artist. His books include Void Voices (Hesterglock Press), Self Portrait by Night (Sampson Low) and Chimera (Penteract Press).
