self-portrait; growth in home isolation

Hetvi

My body is my voice, my home, but its perception is not mine alone. ‘they’ – the world tries to straighten my crookedness. self-expression is outrage; it is the revolution.

The fireworks in Hetvi’s brain are always ‘think-ink-ing’ and she wouldn’t know how to express herself if it weren’t for poetry and math. She is a 19-year-old undergraduate at IIT Delhi, majoring in maths and computing. Hetvi is also the co-founder of a newsletter which is a fortnightly celebration of literature, music, art, and history. Her first poetry collection, ‘AprilVerse’ came out earlier in 2020. She likes to experiment with wordplay, form and rhythm, and create experiences through her work. She speaks 4 languages (english, sindhi, hindi, gujarati) and is learning greek.
